RANCHO CUCAMONGA (CBSLA) – Two employees of a Rancho Cucamonga childcare facility have been arrested on suspicion of child abuse in the death of an 8-month-old child.

Rudie Megan Maldonado, 29, of San Bernardino, was arrested on Wednesday, while Felicia Ann Ferra, 50, of Yorba Linda, was taken into custody Thursday, according to St. Louis County Sheriff’s prison records Bernardino. The two women have been released on bail, and a court date has not yet been set for them.
The two were arrested following an investigation into the injury of an eight-month-old boy who was admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of Loma Linda University on September 4, 2021 with a skull fracture. .

The boy had attended Kiddie Academy, 7220 Victoria Park Lane, in Rancho Cucamonga. Authorities say investigators have determined that the two women conspired to cover up the child’s injuries and neglect his well-being.
Investigators believe there may have been more victims who could have been abused, so authorities have released reservation photos of Maldonado and Ferra.
